Beretta's A400 Xtreme Plus is a semi-automatic 12 gauge that runs 2 3/4, 3 and 3 1/2-inch shells through a 28-inch barrel fitted with an extended removable choke. This one is dressed in Optifade Marsh camouflage on both metal and stock, with a fiber-optic front sight and the Kick-Off recoil device in the butt; length of pull is 14.75 inches. The supplier lists it as new with a stock photo standing in for the actual gun, while our records show it as used.

Marsh camouflage and 3 1/2-inch chambers point this gun at the blind, and the Kick-Off system is there because a morning of heavy loads adds up in the shoulder. In South Carolina any legal firearm may be used for deer, so the same shotgun covers a Game Zone 3 stand from August 15 or the Zone 4 gun opener on September 1 with a suitable load, then goes back to the water when the deer tag is filled and logged with SC Game Check.
