Beretta's 686 Silver Pigeon I is an over/under field shotgun in 12 gauge. The barrels run 28 inches with a vent rib, take removable chokes and are chambered for 3-inch shells. The receiver is stainless steel with floral engraving, the barrels are blued, and the checkered wood stock carries an oil finish. Five extra chokes come with it. Our record lists the gun as used; the supplier describes it as new with a stock photo, so both are stated here as given.

A break-action double like this suits the South Carolina shooter who wants one gun for the clays course and the field. With 3-inch chambers it handles heavier loads, and the choke set lets you tighten or open the pattern for the job at hand. Because any legal firearm may be used for deer in the state, it can also go to the stand during the long Game Zone 3 season from August 15 to January 1.
