This Colt Python is a 1983-production .357 Magnum revolver, serial K94843, with the 6-inch barrel, full underlug and vented rib. It retains about 98 percent of its original finish; the supplier notes a timing scratch on the cylinder, one wear mark near the muzzle and two handling marks on the back of the wood grips. The rear sight is the original, adjustable for windage and elevation, matched to a pinned ramp front. The bore is described as flawless and the action locks up correctly with good timing.

In South Carolina a 6-inch Python is a range revolver and a collector's piece more than a carry gun. The long sight radius and adjustable sights suit deliberate shooting at the club, and a .357 Magnum with a full underlug is steady in the hand. Buyers must be 21 to take a handgun from a dealer, and many dealers accept a current South Carolina concealed weapons permit in place of the NICS check.
