Winchester Model 70 Carbine in 30-06, serial G1675657, built in 1984 with a 20-inch round barrel and a Simmons 3-10 scope on top. Metal is blued, the bolt is jeweled, and the stock is checkered walnut with the original red Winchester pad and sling studs. Condition is very good overall: light handling marks on the wood, a few small patina spots on the barrel and the studs, and an excellent bore.

Short barrel, standard cartridge, scope already mounted: this is a ready-to-go deer rifle for a South Carolina hunter who climbs into a stand in the Midlands or Lowcountry when Game Zone 3 private land opens August 15, or who waits for the Upstate gun season from October 11 to January 1. The 20-inch carbine length is easier to handle in a box blind than a long sporter. Check zero on the Simmons before opening day, tag each deer and report it to SC Game Check by midnight.
