A Winchester Model 94 lever-action carbine in .32 Winchester Special, serial 1688440, which the supplier dates to 1950. It has the 20-inch round barrel with iron sights, blued steel, and walnut stock and forend topped by the original checkered steel butt plate. Condition is honest for a working gun of its age: the wood shows moderate wear and finish loss but no cracks, the bluing holds up well with light spotted patina and wear at the edges, and the bore is good with strong rifling.

Short, light and quick to shoulder, a 94 carbine is a natural fit for still-hunting South Carolina's thick pine and hardwood bottoms, where shots are close and a 20-inch barrel is easy to carry all day. Any legal firearm may be used for deer here, so it can hunt the Game Zone 3 season from August 15 through January 1 or the Upstate gun season from October 11. Collectors will value the original butt plate and the strong bore.
