Winchester 1892 carbine, serial 670634, made in 1912, chambered in 25-20 with a 20-inch barrel. This one has been heavily reworked: the original stock is gone in favor of a replacement pistol-grip stock, the frame has been refinished, and the saddle ring was taken off. About 30 percent of the original blue remains on the barrel and it is thinning. The seller describes it as an unusual customized 1892, and that is a fair summary.

A gun like this appeals to the South Carolina shooter who wants a real 1912 Winchester to handle and shoot without worrying over collector finish, since the changes already set it outside the original-condition market. The 20-inch barrel keeps the carbine short and quick in the hands, and the pistol-grip stock gives it a feel no factory 1892 has. Every alteration is disclosed above, so you can judge for yourself whether a customized carbine in 25-20 is what you want in the rack.
