Savage's RXR22 is a semi-automatic .22 LR with a 16.5-inch threaded barrel, a Picatinny rail for optics or accessories, matte black metal and a gray synthetic stock. One 10-round magazine is supplied, and the rifle accepts aftermarket magazines, triggers and barrels made for the Ruger 10/22 pattern. The supplier lists it as new and shows a stock photo; our catalog records the condition as used.

The 10/22-compatible parts list is what sets this rifle apart: a South Carolina owner can start with the factory rifle and swap in a trigger, barrel or higher-capacity magazine from the 10/22 aftermarket as interest grows. At 16.5 inches with a threaded muzzle it is a short rimfire for the range, plinking on the back forty and teaching a new shooter, with the rail ready for a red dot or a scope. This one is for the range and the farm rather than the deer stand.
