Remington's 597 is a semi-automatic rimfire rifle; this one is .22 LR with a 20-inch barrel, serial C2678459, modern production. The metal is parkerized, the synthetic stock is camouflage, and a Bushnell scope is mounted. The bore is very good, the finish and stock show minor marks, and the overall condition is very good.

A scoped semi-auto .22 is the practice rifle and the small-game rifle, and the camo stock and parkerized metal shrug off damp mornings in the woods. For a South Carolina family it is the gun that teaches trigger control before a young hunter moves up to a centerfire for deer. Nothing here is fancy; it is a working rimfire that has been used and kept in good order, sold with the scope so it is ready to zero and shoot.
