A modern-production Marlin 1894C, serial 94044310, lever action in .357 Magnum and .38 Special with an 18.5-inch round barrel. Sights are XS, a front blade and a rear peep, the receiver carries a cross-bolt safety, the metal is blued and the furniture is checkered walnut. Very good condition overall with an excellent bore.

The 1894C pairs naturally with a .357 revolver, one cartridge for both guns, and the carbine runs .38 Special for practice. Any legal firearm may be used for deer in South Carolina, and an 18.5-inch lever carbine with a peep sight is a close-cover gun for a Game Zone 3 stand from August 15, or the Upstate from October 11, loaded with .357 Magnum. Every deer must be tagged and entered in SC Game Check by midnight. The XS peep is already fitted, so the rifle is ready to shoot as it sits, and the cross-bolt safety is a modern touch on a traditional action.
