Description
The Graves Alamo 15 trigger replaces the AR-15’s factory trigger group with a precision-engineered mechanism that eliminates take-up and provides a crisp, consistent break. Built for competitive shooters who demand repeatable performance, it delivers a clean pull without the creep found in mil-spec designs.
What you get
- Positive displacement mechanism eliminates trigger slack
- CNC-machined from high-carbon steel billet
- Black nitride finish resists corrosion and wear
- Drop-in installation requires no gunsmithing
- Rockwell 58-60 hardness rating for long-term durability
- 2.5 oz weight maintains balanced rifle handling
Build and finish
Graves Precision machines the Alamo 15 from solid steel stock rather than using cast or MIM components. The trigger shoe, hammer, and disconnector are cut on CNC equipment to tolerances within 0.0005″, ensuring consistent engagement surfaces. Unlike coated triggers that wear through at contact points, the black nitride treatment penetrates the steel to a depth of 0.0015″, maintaining lubricity even after thousands of rounds.
The sear geometry follows a modified military-spec angle that reduces lock time while maintaining positive hammer engagement. All moving surfaces are hand-polished before nitride treatment, resulting in a pull that breaks cleanly at 3.5-4 lbs out of the box with minimal grit. The design eliminates overtravel without requiring set screws that can vibrate loose during rapid fire.
Compatible platforms
- AR-15 pattern rifles (commercial and mil-spec lowers)
- AR-9 PCC builds with hammer-fired bolts
- AR-10/LR-308 platforms (verify hammer clearance with heavy buffers)
- Not compatible with drop-in cassette triggers requiring proprietary housings
Installation notes
This is a true drop-in unit requiring only basic armorer’s tools. The trigger and hammer pins are retained by a proprietary spring clip system that eliminates walking under recoil. No modifications to the lower receiver are needed, though we recommend checking hammer clearance if installing in a non-standard lower with reinforced trigger guards.
Columbia Gunrack has stocked Graves Precision components since 2018 because they hold up under competitive use. This trigger ships with the manufacturer’s lifetime warranty against defects, backed by a Nevada-based company that still machines all components stateside. Current inventory includes both the standard configuration and a flat-faced shoe version for shooters who prefer a wider contact surface.
